The house in Fuellerdoerfel where my dad was born, and where we lived until we were forced to leave Czechoslovakia in 1946. The picture was taken circa 1938, and shows my mom & dad, my sister and me, my cousin Traudl (Traudl Squires, who now lives in Dawson Creek, BC), and I believe an aunt of my dad’s who lived with us in the house. My sister Erika and I were also born in this house.

Fuellerdoerfel (in Nieder Preschkau, in Northern Bohemia, Czechoslovakia). From the left our house is the second one in the front. All the fields and yards in the forefront belonged to my mom and dad.

Shows in the forefront the paper factory where my dad’s father, my dad, and later in 1945 my mom worked for a short while. On the right hand side is a part of Fuellerdoerfel.
Fuellerdoerfel was a very small village, and I believe once was a “company town “. Most of the people there worked at the paper factory.
