Overview of Client Tools

Everything you do FOR a Client rather than about them - files, e-signatures, Quotes, Invoices, payments and meetings. All of it works from the Client record you already have.

What this covers

What the Client Tools section is for, and why these particular things sit together.

Everything you do FOR a Client

The rest of the program is about keeping track of people. This section is about doing things for them:

What ties it together

None of it starts from a blank page. Every one of these works from the Client you already have, so their name, address, email and history are already in it and nothing is entered twice.

And everything you send lands back on their record. Next year you can see what you sent and when, without going looking in a mail folder.

Why Invoicing appears twice

You will find Invoicing here and under Accounting, and that is deliberate. Plenty of people invoice without running the books, so it is reachable from either side. It is the same Invoice either way.

Common questions

Do I need the Accounting switched on to invoice?

No. Invoices and Quotes work perfectly well on their own. If Accounting is on, a posted Invoice also writes its Journal Entry.

Why can I not see Financial Plans or the Calculators?

They are for qualified tax and financial professionals and are switched on by request.

Can I hide the parts I do not use?

Yes, in Custom Views. Nothing is deleted, so you can turn anything back on later.

Everything so far has been about keeping track of people. This section is about doing things for them. Sending a file, and knowing it arrived. Getting something signed without printing it. Quoting for work, then invoicing it, then recording what came in.

Building a financial plan, or running a number mid-conversation. And meeting them, without leaving the record you were looking at. What ties it together is that none of it starts from a blank page. Every one of these works from the Client you already have. Their name, their address, their email, their history. Nothing is entered twice.

And everything you send lands back on their record, so next year you can see what you sent and when. One thing that confuses people. Invoicing appears here AND under Accounting. That is deliberate. Plenty of people invoice without running the books, so it is reachable from either side. Everything in this section is a thing your Client actually receives. Which makes it the part worth setting up properly.
